Michael is York Street Studios’ lead engineer and producer, with 20 years of experience in music production and audio engineering. He has worked with artists across Pop, Rock, Metal, Singer-Songwriter, Chamber and Spoken Word, and is known for his versatility, technical precision and commitment to capturing performances at their very best. His work has contributed to releases and artists featured by the BBC, Red Bull, Warner Bros. Records, Rock Sound Magazine, Sofar Sounds and The Punk Rock MBA.
From developing songs and refining tones to capturing compelling performances, Michael works closely with artists at every stage of the recording process. He then delivers expertly mixed and mastered, release-ready records tailored for streaming, radio and album campaigns helping each project achieve a professional, confident sound with lasting impact.

Ciaran Thomas Recordings (CTR) is an independent recording, mixing and mastering service based in the North East of Scotland. His work has received airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio Scotland, including four separate Album of the Week features on the Roddy Hart Show, amongst numerous other local and commercial radio stations. Working across a wide range of genres, from rock, indie, folk, Country / Americana and electronica / experimental, Ciaran enjoys working closely with artists to bring out the best in their music. With a focus on clarity, definition and attention to detail, his approach is all about creating polished, radio-ready recordings while holding on to the character, personality and authenticity that make each artist’s sound their own.

Joel is one of our remote producers and engineers, whose expertise lies in pop music, with his work extending across mainstream pop, indie, hip hop and Kpop. Having written and worked with artists and songwriters all over the world, Joel is well versed in working remotely and/or in person to get the best out of an artist. Joel’s work spans from the start of the songwriting process right through to the final mixing and mastering stages, delivering a finished and radio ready product.

Ryan’s passion is live audio. He specialises in capturing your best live performances, whether for demos or live releases. Working primarily as a live engineer on the local music scene, he brings those skills into the studio to help you give your best performance and capture it straight to tape! A live recording session is also a great way to listen back to your performances and decide which tracks you’d like to develop further through multitrack recording.
